Hummus

The easy and delicious Hummus recipe takes no more than 10 hours and all you need is a blender. There is a secret to making hummus delicious and soft. Read the full recipe. This is on of the most popular appetizer or dip ,great for sharing and a staple in the middle eastern cuisine.





Ingredients:

  • Can of Chickpeas

  • Lemon juice of one lemon

  • 1/4 quarter cup of tahini sauce

  • 2 cloves of garlic

  • Four ice cubes

  • Salt to taste

  • Three tablespoons of olive oil and more for garnish

  • Sumac for garnish


Instructions:



  • Soak the chickpeas in water for a few minutes, then rub it with your hands to remove the skin from the chickpeas. (the skin must be removed because it will make the hummus bitter).


  • The chickpeas that are free from the skin are placed in a mixer or food processor.

  • Add the tahini, oil, garlic and lemon juice to the mixer and salt and mix well for at least 4 minutes or until it becomes smooth.




  • After the chickpeas become smooth, add the ice cubes while continuing to mix one after the other. (Ice cubes will keep chickpeas cool)

  • Chickpeas can be served and garnished with sumac and olive oil, or stored in the refrigerator before serving.
